Chomp & Stomp Free Outdoor Music Festival

Honoring Cabbagetown’s past as a little bit of country in the big city, Chomp & Stomp aims in the direction of old time string instruments. Originally conceived as a nod to historical residents like Fiddlin’ John Carson, Moonshine Kate, and Joyce Brookshire, it has evolved to a variety of sounds & styles on multiple stages plus a heaping helping of porch jams – with well, any kind of music we damn well please.

Chomp and Stomp has become the bookend event for the vibrant Atlanta festival season. This provides a challenge to make Chomp music unique when compared to the dozens of other neighborhood and Atlanta festivals that take place throughout the year. We take pride in booking a diverse lineup, sharing a few gems with other local events but primarily bringing in fresh talent you will only see at Chomp and Stomp.

So loosen those belts, dig into some chili, and come dance with us this coming November at Atlanta’s top outdoor music festival.

What time does music start/end?

Bands will start performing at 11 AM in Cabbagetown Park with all other stages starting later. Music will generally wrap up by 7 PM with some extended after party programming at Carroll Street and 97 Estoria. Check the music schedule for details.

Can I bring blankets and chairs?

Yes and yes! We have plenty of space in the parks for your chairs and blankets.

Can I bring my own food/drinks/cooler?

As we are at core a fundraising event for the parks of Cabbagetown, we discourage outside beverages and food.
We will have a wide variety of food vendors in addition to our 12:30pm chili portion of the festival. Water will be available for purchase along with beer and cocktails for folks 21 and over with a valid ID.

Where are the stages located?

We have six stages around the neighborhood: the big stage in Cabbagetown Park, the Joyce Brookshire Amphitheatre, 97 Estoria, Esther Peachy Lefever Park, Carroll Street hosted by Skeletons Lot, and a new porch jam stage at Powell x Kirkwood.

What kind of music is booked for Chomp and Stomp? Is it just bluegrass?

The big stage in Cabbagetown Park and the porch jam stage will primarily be bluegrass acts. The Joyce Brookshire Amphitheatre will have a mix of americana/country, indie, and jam. 97 Estoria will have alternative rock. Esther Peachy Lefever Park will be indie, country, and jam. Carroll Street is being booked by Skeletons Lot and will have mixed genres.

Can my band play Chomp?

While it is too late to sign up to perform at Chomp and Stomp 2025, we encourage you to apply via the Cabbagetown website for 2026 programming. There will be a sign up form on the Chomp website following this year’s festival.

Is the music free to attend?

The music is free! But don’t forget to buy your Chomp chili spoon to help support the neighborhood fundraiser. That’s what has kept Cabbagetown programming, including Chomp & Stomp, running every year for the past couple decades.
