Romp & Stomp 5k Run

One of the most popular races in Atlanta, Romp and Stomp 5k kicks off the Cabbagetown Chomp & Stomp Chili Cookoff and Bluegrass Festival. This race features a fast, flat course through historic Cabbagetown that is great for first timers or those chasing a PR. All participants receive an awesome long-sleeved T-shirt and a free chili tasting spoon for the Chomp & Stomp Chili and Bluegrass Festival later that day.

The proceeds from the Romp & Stomp 5k benefit the non-profit organization maintaining the neighborhood’s two beautiful parks and community center: the Cabbagetown Initiative CDC. Families from all over Intown Atlanta enjoy the fun, clean and safe environment these parks provide.

There is no race day registration! This race has sold out the last 20 years and we expect it to sell out in 2026. Sign up early for the best price and t-shirt sizing!

How much does it cost?

Early bird special: $35 registration

September 15th: cost will increase to $40

October 20th: cost will increase to $45

Run Club Championships
Who REALLY runs the ATL? This year at Romp & Stomp we find out with the Run Club Championship sponsored by Skull House Running. The competition is open to all active and established running clubs in the Atlanta area.

The top three times from each of three divisions (men, women, non-binary) will be tallied to determine who has the fastest run club in Atlanta.

The winner of each division will be awarded the Romp & Stomp ATL Run Club Championship Trophy for the year and be challenged with defending it or giving it up next year. Does your club have what it takes to win all three?

How to rep your club?  Simply sign up for the 5k race and declare yourself in the competition from our list of clubs. Don’t see your club on the Active registration? Have a representative shoot us an email at romp@chompandstomp.com and we will gladly add your club to the list.
Are dogs allowed at the Romp 5K?

If you plan on running with strollers or dogs, or walking, please start behind the rest of the runners. Keep in mind dogs are not allowed at the Chomp & Stomp festival that happens after the race.

Where do I park?

Parking is a challenge, so arrive early! Parking lots are available on Memorial. Race start is on Carroll St. in front of Milltown Tavern.

Can I signup the day of?

Can I walk the 5K?

This year we do NOT have a separate walking division. Runners and walkers will all sign up in the same category. If you are walking or have a pet or stroller, please line up in the back of the starting group on race day.
